Swiss dishes Many Swiss recipes are influenced by neighbors' cuisines, however the Swiss also have their own unique dishes. Swiss recipes and food, like Swiss life, has been influenced by the countries around Switzerland. The most famous recipes are fondue. Fondue is usually made with a mixture of Emmentaler and Gruyère, but alternatives are other Swiss cheeses such as Appenzeller or Vacherin.
